An author visit for your school, before/after school program, or library
Feel Trip: A journey through ordinary emotions is co-authored by Marcelle and Stella Waldman, mother and daughter duo, eager to share our book with your students.
You will receive a visit* from one or both authors (depending on Stella's school schedule).
Before reading aloud, we talk about feelings and introduce our feeling plush dolls, characters that show up in the book! We ask questions before reading to gain an understanding of their prior knowledge. We also ask students to think as we read, 'What is our purpose is for writing our story?'
During reading students will stay engaged by helping with rhyming, reciting repetitive text while incorporating movement. They will also have an opportunity to find hidden pictures on each page!
After reading we ask comprehension questions and give students time to ask us questions.
As a former kindergarten teacher, Marcelle has a great handle on classroom management - giving teachers/school staff the opportunity to sit back and enjoy!
*Depending on school location, this can be done in person or virtual. We are located in Issaquah, Wa.
